THE ABERDEEN ROOM ARCHIVES AND MUSEUM, INC acquires, records, and displays memorabilia and artifacts that relate to the social, economic, and cultural development of the city of Aberdeen. All interested persons are welcome and are invited to visit, utilize, and enjoy the museum and archival facilities provided.

Incorporated in 1991 as a non-profit organization, the Aberdeen Room is an historical and educational facility of the City of Aberdeen. Affiliated with the Harford County Historical Society and Aberdeen Appearance and Preservation Committee, the Aberdeen Room Archives and Museum was established by Charlotte Garretson Cronin in 1987. It is staffed by interested citizens who donate their time and talents to the maintenance and improvement of this facility. The nucleus of the first displays came from the office of the late Senator J. Wilmer Cronin, Aberdeen lawyer, legislator, newspaper editor and publisher, and the native American collection of Clinton Sterling Garretson. The family concept was furthered as other families searched their attics, basements and desk drawers.

SOURCE OF MEMORABILIA

Come and share memories of the early Canners baseball team as well as present Ripken family adventures.

All memorabilia have been donated by the public. For the most part the persons who either live in Aberdeen or those who formerly lived here have brought in the materials for our consideration. We gladly accept these donations for display and/or recording.

Anyone having memorabilia such as pictures of family, family histories, Aberdeen buildings and streets, newspaper clippings, artifacts - anything relating to the history and development of Aberdeen and Aberdeen Proving Ground - are urged to contribute whatever they are willing to part with or allow us to copy for the files. If you have memorabilia that might be appropriate, call 410-273-6325 or visit the Aberdeen Room Museum. Have you looked in the attic lately? Anything given will be much appreciated
